1765 Cowichan Bay Rd | Barry Cote started painting at the age of thirteen when he got some paints for his birthday. Barry has spent years studying and copying the old Italian masters. He then had a brief love affair with surrealism after having met a dedicated student of Salvador Dali’s. Barry found surrealism to be dark,cryptic and pretentious and decided that if he was going to say something with art, it should be positive and uplifting. Over the years Barry has painted over 2000 pieces and produced 30 murals. He now live and work in beautiful Cowichan Bay with his wife and two daughters.
